Bring a few extra dollars as we will go to Sisters for dinner!
8th Annual Native American Storytelling Festival (Multi-Day Event)
All Day

This year's Festival celebrates the 8th season of tribal storytelling in the Pacific Northwest. Wisdom of the Elders, sponsoring umbrella organization, is committed to Native American cultural sustainability, multimedia education, and race reconciliation. Among Native people throughout North America, winter is storytelling time. Oral history and prophecy, traditional cultural values and spiritual qualities, wisdom and knowledge have been passed down by treasured elders, in the longer nights of winter, from generation to generation.

David Roberts (1796-1864) was a Scottish painter who traveled to the Near East in the late 1830s and produced a series of bound, hand-colored lithographs of Egypt and the Holy Land in the 1840s from sketches made during his travels. These folios provided Europeans, and eventually Americans, with their first views of the exotic Orient, changing forever their vision of Egypt and the Middle East. This small exhibition features several of Roberts’ prints.
