*WU Campus - Hatfield Library

From its humble beginnings as a booth at the Portland Farmers Market to the #1 organic bread in the country, Dave’s Killer Bread has been a force of change in a stagnant industry. Come hear about how it began, what it took to grow the company, and how the original founders exited the business. Please bring any questions you may have about the business as there will be Q&A. After graduating from WU in 2005 with a BA in Economics, Shobi Dahl co-founded Dave’s Killer Bread with his father and uncle as an extension to the existing family bakery. In 2011, Shobi took the role of CEO of Dave’s Killer Bread and brought in investors in late 2012. Flowers Foods wholly acquired Dave’s Killer Bread in 2015. Shobi is currently building a distillery in Portland and sits on the board of the non-profit Albina Opportunities Corporation.
