Event Image Exhibition | Crow's Shadow Institute of the Arts at 25 | Sept. 16 - Dec. 22
10:00 AM - 5:00 PM

*WU Campus - Hallie Ford Museum of Art

Organized by the Hallie Ford Museum of Art in partnership with the Crow’s Shadow Institute of the Arts (CSIA), the exhibition chronicles the history of Crow’s Shadow over the past 25 years as it has emerged as an important printmaking studio located on the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation near Pendleton, Oregon.

The exhibition features 75 prints drawn from the Crow’s Shadow Print Archive and focuses on themes of landscape, abstraction, portraiture, word and images, and media and process. Included in the exhibition are works by 50 Native and non-Native artists who have worked at CSIA, including Rick Bartow, Pat Boas, Joe Feddersen, Edgar Heap of Birds, James Lavadour, Truman Lowe, Lillian Pitt, Wendy Red Star, Storm Tharp, and Marie Watt, among others.

Cozies for a Cause
11:30 AM - 1:30 PM

*WU Campus - Goudy Commons

Various knit and crocheted items will be sold at a pop-up stand in Goudy. All money raised by Cozies for a Cause will go directly to the Redwood Credit Union Community Fund set up by Senator Mike McGuire and the Press Democrat, which will then direct all proceeds towards people and communities affected by the Northern California Fires. We are also looking for donations of items to be sold at this stand. Attached are two knit patterns for Cozies for a Cause: one for a headband and one for a coffee cozy. Crafts can be dropped off at Professor David Altman's office (Collins 313) on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday from 11-12.
LARC Research Collaborative Forum
11:30 AM - 12:30 PM

*WU Campus - Goudy Commons

LARC Summer Research Communities provide an opportunity for faculty and students to work together on a research project. The Research Communities begin with at least two faculty members from different academic disciplines who have identified a theme or problem for research in common. They will recruit student researchers at the annual Research Collaborative Forum, and will develop with those students proposals for summer research and collaboration. This year's Research Collaborative Forum will be on Thursday, November 2, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm in the Goudy Wilson-Hines room. Participants are welcome to bring their lunch. Cookies and drinks will be provided. To see the current faculty proposed projects, please go to http://willamette.edu/cla/additional-academic-opportunities/larc/summer-research/faculty_projects/index.html.
Event Image The Uncondemned
6:30 PM - 9:00 PM

In 1997, an underdog group of lawyers and activists prosecuted rape as a crime against humanity in Rwanda. This is the against-the-odds story of their fight for the first genocide conviction— and of the women who braved witness assassinations to testify.
