7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

The Willamette University Choral Program under the Direction of Dr. Wallace Long will present a Gala Concert featuring students from the 35 years of Dr. Long's tenure at Willamette and beyond.  The FREE Gala Concert will take place in Hudson Hall in the Rogers Music Center, Saturday, November 4th at 7pm.  Alumni from as far back as 1960 will participate.  Nearly 150 alumni will rehearse for two days and produce a Gala Concert honoring their time at Willamette.  The program will feature the current Willamette Singers and Chamber Choir plus 3 decade groups of Willamette Singers alumni and a combined choir with all returning members of the Chamber Choir.

Literature for the concert will come from the best of 35 years of great Willamette Choral Concerts.  Selections from the Willamette Singers alumni groups program will include:   There is No Greater Love, Come Fly with Me, The Song is You and That Old Black Magic Called Love.   Selections from the Willamette Chamber Choir program will include:  My Love is Like a Red, Red, Rose; Amen; an amazing gospel piece called John the Revelator, and one of the most beloved pieces over the years, Stars.   Stars is the very interesting piece that includes accompaniment by several tuned wined glasses.

Don't miss this incredible musical event.  Call the Willamette Music Office at 503.370.6255 with questions.
