End Date: 2/9/2018End Time: 3:30 PM
Event Description
In a world increasingly cluttered by news feeds, social media, apps, podcasts, and videos, it can be difficult to get your voice heard. In this talk, science reporter and digital producer Ari Daniel offers strategies for authoring stories and content about your science that will connect with an audience. Working as a science journalist across a variety of platforms including public radio, digital video, and live storytelling, he'll speak about what works best for different mediums.

Ari Daniel is Senior Digital Producer at NOVA where he both creates digital videos that showcase the science angle on current events and helps oversee digital video production more generally. He has also reported on science topics across five continents for a variety of national public radio programs. Ari produces live storytelling shows about science including the Boston branch of Story Collider and "Stories Under the Stars" at the Charles Hayden Planetarium at the Museum of Science in Boston. He received his Ph.D. in Biological Oceanography from MIT and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and a Master’s degree in Animal Behavior from the University of St. Andrews. In the fifth grade, Ari won the “Most Contagious Smile” award.
