The 19-Day Fast (Multi-Day Event)
All Day

During 'Alá', the last 19-day month of the Bahá'i year, Baha'is between 15 and 70 years of age do not eat or drink from sunrise to sunset and set aside time for prayer and meditation.
Purim

Purim is the Jewish celebration of the deliverance of the Jews from planned genocide as told in the book of Esther. The holiday is observed by reading the Book of Esther, eating "Hamantashen," the exchange of gifts, and donations to the poor.

Whiting Tennis is a Seattle-based mixed media artist who merges interests in folk and Pop art with surrealism in his artworks, which include paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings, and collages. Often derived from doodles and automatic drawings, his art combines Western landscapes, lonely forms, and dilapidated buildings to create a distinctly American narrative. Organized by Collection Curator Jonathan Bucci, the exhibition will feature a range of work from the past 10 years.

Event Image Hallie Ford's Birthday | Free HFMA Admission
1:00 PM - 5:00 PM

*WU Campus - Hallie Ford Museum of Art

The Hallie Ford Museum of Art is pleased to offer free admission in celebration of Hallie Ford's (1905-2007) birthday.

In 1996, with the support of long-time benefactor Hallie Ford and the Ford Family Foundation, Willamette purchased the vacant US West Communications building that was transformed into the Hallie Ford Museum of Art.

With the resources of the Ford Family Foundation and as a trustee of Willamette University, Mrs. Ford sought to benefit the arts and education throughout Oregon. Her birthday offers us a moment to reflect on her generosity and the enduring legacy of her philanthropic efforts.
