The Willamette community is invited to a lecture by Albert Sergio Laguna, Assistant Professor of Ethnicity, Race & Migration and American Studies at Yale University. This lecture is hosted by the Spring 2014 Humanities Senior Seminar on the Pulitzer-Prize Winning novel The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Dominican American author Junot Díaz. Professor Laguna will discuss Oscar Wao's use of space--both geographic and on the page--to explore the ways in which the novel stages a dynamic performance of immigrant identity
