Event Image Exhibition | Robert Bibler: Works on Paper | May 12 – July 15
10:00 AM - 5:00 PM

*WU Campus - Hallie Ford Museum of Art

For more than 40 years, Robert Bibler (American, born 1948) has combined a fascination with cinematic storytelling, classic film, and Renaissance art to create a beautifully rendered and thoughtful body of work. A master draftsman, Bibler embraces figurative representation and symbolism in surreal, narrative works that distort space and time. This exhibition of Bibler’s work has been organized by Collection Curator Jonathan Bucci, and features drawings and mixed media works on paper created between 1974 and 2017.

Bibler lives in Salem, Oregon, and taught studio art and film studies at Chemeketa Community College for 30 years, retiring in 2003. He also helped bring classic and contemporary films to Salem for 40 years as Coordinator of the Wednesday Evening Film Series. Bibler has exhibited extensively in the Pacific Northwest and his work is included in public and private collections throughout the region, including the Hallie Ford Museum of Art. He earned his BFA degree from the University of Washington and his MFA degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Event Image Composition Festival
12:30 PM

*WU Campus - Rogers Music Center

The Composition Celebration is a music festival that provides young composers with an opportunity for creativity and self-expression. Open to students from beginner through post-college adult levels, compositions of all musical styles and instrumentation are welcome!
At the district level students submit their compositions for written suggestions by an adjudicator. Each district has a different submission deadline.  Adjudicators recognize students with the most outstanding compositions as Honored Composers. These students are invited to advance to the OMTA State Composition Celebration to share their works and hear the compositions of other student composers from all over Oregon.  The Honored Compositions will be performed Saturday May 19th in Hudson Hall.  Recitals will be at 1:00 and 2:30. They are free and are open to the public.

Practice LSAT
8:00 AM - 1:00 PM

An important way to prepare for the LSAT is to take a practice LSAT test under time constraints. This helps you estimate the amount of time you can afford to spend on each question in a given section to help you study more efficiently. We invite you to a Practice LSAT test at Willamette University College of Law to ensure you're ready for your upcoming LSAT. Willamette Law will provide lunch after the test, and a current law student will be available to answer your questions and chat about law school.
