Event Description
You're invited to "Transgressing Words: Transforming Worlds: Poet Willy Palomo Visits WU," a spoken-word and zine-filled event with food provided. Palomo is an award-winning Salvadoran American poet, activist, and teacher and has instructed the Poetics of Rap and Creative Writing in diverse settings, including in universities, juvenile detention centers, community centers, and high schools. His writing has been published in both online and print venues and can be found in Muzzle, Vinyl, Waxwing, The Wandering Song: Central American Writing in the United States, and Chricú Journal: Latina/o Literatures, Arts, and Cultures, among other titles. Palomo is the founder of UndocuHoosiers Bloomington, an undocumented/DACAmented student advocacy group. For more about our guest, visit his website:
