National Security Education Program: Boren Scholars and Fellowships Information Session
Start Date: 11/3/2016Start Time: 4:00 PM
End Date: 11/3/2016End Time: 5:00 PM

Event Description
Boren Scholarships and Fellowships provide unique funding opportunities for U.S. undergraduate and graduate students to study less commonly taught languages in world regions critical to U.S. interests, and underrepresented in study abroad, including Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East.

As NSEP initiatives, the Boren Awards focus on countries, languages, and fields critical to U.S. national security, recognizing a broad definition that includes traditional concerns of protecting American well-being, as well as challenges of global society, such as sustainable development, environmental issues, disease, migration, and economic competitiveness. For more info see the website:
Jeffrey Cary, Program Outreach manager for the Boren Awards program of the Institute for International Education, will be visiting campus on Thursday, Nov. 3, to share information about the program and to discuss the program with potential applicants. He will be in the World Languages Studio on the first floor of Ford Hall between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m.

All are welcome!
