End Date: 3/10/2015End Time: 9:30 PM

Event Description
The Kadinsky Effect with the Willamette Jazz Collective.

What do you get when you combine an ex-pat American saxophonist, a self-proclaimed "total gringo" bassist from Argentina and a New York-based session drummer originally from Reno, Nevada, playing progressive jazz in Europe? The Kandinsky Effect is an award-winning jazz trio from Paris, France, featuring Warren Walker (saxophone, electronics), Gael Petrina (bass, electronics) and Caleb Dollister (drum set). The Los Angeles Times calls their music "an invigorating approach to modern jazz and improvisation...”

Led by music professor James Miley, the Jazz Collective is one of Willamette’s premiere instrumental performance ensembles. The band premieres works from emerging jazz composers, re-imaginings of popular songs and compositions written by students.
