To Draw or not to Draw: Commemorating the Prophet in Islamic Law and Tradition
Start Date: 9/2/2015Start Time: 4:00 PM
End Date: 9/2/2015End Time: 4:30 PM

Event Description
Recent events have brought to light the prohibition in Islamic sacred law of drawing images of the Prophet Muhammad. But if images are prohibited, in what ways do Muslims commemorate him? And why is drawing his visage such an issue? Join us for an informative discussion about the image of the Prophet through the lens of Muslim devotional practice, theology and sacred law.
