Feminist Film Series: Fannie Lou Hamer's America

Event Description
Professor Maegan Parker Brooks (Civic Communication and Media) will present clips and images from "Fannie Lou Hamer's America," based on Brooks's research on Hamer and relationship with Hamer's family, together with a screening of "This Little Light of Mine: The Legacy of Fannie Lou Hamer" (2015). Brooks is the author of A Voice That Could Stir an Army: Fannie Lou Hamer and the Rhetoric of the Black Freedom Struggle, and co-editor of The Speeches of Fannie Lou Hamer: To Tell It Like It Is (both University Press of Mississippi).
Refreshments will be served. Free and Open to the Public.
